Abstract:Este artículo muestra al don Juan del barroco y al pícaro como experimentos fallidos de la libertad moderna. Los dos saborean esa libertad como un fruto prohibido, y terminan siendo víctimas de sus deseos; condenados a la soledad, los dos escenifican de una forma particular eso que María Zambrano llamó la encarnación del Absolutismo en la existencia individual.
