Mathematical modeling of phenol degradation system using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation

Abstract: New mathematical model for phenol degradation is developed that uses fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Biodegradation of phenol by Pseudomonas putida (NICM 2174), a potential biodegradent of phenol has been investigated for its degrading potential under different conditions. In the present work, results of batch study on P. putida (NICM 2174) and its degradation activity on phenolic compounds such as phenol, o-cresol, p-cresol, p-nitrophenol and resorcinol each of concentration 0.300 g/l are considered. In the p… Show more

“…On the one hand, the evaluation indicators of the government's food safety regulatory performance are complex, multi-attribute and interrelated, and ANP can be used to systematically evaluate such a relevant multi-indicator system (Pang & Bai, 2013). On the other hand, the evaluation of the government's food safety regulatory performance is difficult to be quantified with precise figures, and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model can be used to study this ambiguous situation (Annadurai, Babu, & Srinivasamoorthy, 2000). Consequently, from the perspective of multi-link supervision, based on the analysis of food safety regulations and existing literatures, this study constructs the food safety evaluation index system through the network process-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model.…”

“…Zadeh, an U.S.expert in control theory [43] , and the contributions of multiple related factors are comprehensively considered according to weight factors, and the fuzziness is decreased by using membership functions [44,45] which is suitable for making decisions in vague and imprecise system. FCE has been widely applied in many fields, such as environmental field [46,47] , agriculture field [43,48] , engineering field [49,50] , and other fields [45,[51][52][53] as well as to solve the fuzzy and difficult to quantify characteristics of the problem [54] . Water quality management is characterized by imprecision in objectives and water quality standards.…”

“…Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) is an evaluation method to evaluate things by quantifying fuzzy information [4]. Developed by Chen et al [5], this method has been applied successfully in various different areas, including power quality [4], urban development [3], phenol degradation system [6], urban fire risk [7] etc. The FCE method is a more robust and flexible model for solving real-world complex systems involving human aspects than oversimplified evaluation methods.…”
