Mathematical modeling of Stonely wave propagation

Abstract

Long distance propagation of a Stonely wave is caused by the concentration of the wave energy in the thin layer near the bottom. Such a property makes it possible to use the generation of a Stonely wave for transmission of information. The main applications can be concerned with registration of volcano eruptions, underwater explosions, and elaboration of new methods of long distance communications. The mathematical model calculations are analyzed and confirm the possibility of the long distance propagation and use of a Stonely wave in the applications mentioned above.
