Mathematical modelling of traction resistance of the improved opener of grain seeder

Abstract: The object of the study is a double disc coulter with a pressure plate. The aim of the research was to simulate the operation of the double disc coulter using a grain seed drill as an example. Analytical dependencies for determining the traction resistance of the improved coulter are presented. The method of calculating the drag resistance of a double disc coulter with an original pressure plate installed on it is given. The components of the traction resistance balance have been determined and the dependence … Show more

“…During the operation, first of all, the double-disc colter cut the soil. Left and right discs cut the soil layer to a certain depth and spread the soil in a transverse direction, forming a groove that causes rolling resistance [39,40]. Therefore, the disc's horizontal force (F h ) opposes the direction of travel, and the disc's vertical force (F v ) directs upward.…”

“…Although significant research has been conducted on the development of cultivation machines [25][26][27], unfortunately, there is a large gap in terms of the research into the development of versatile seed drills with automatically variable designs and the adjustment of their technological parameters. These can be used in different climatic zones with different soil characteristics [28][29][30]. An analysis of the scientific literature shows an urgent need for the development of new devices designed for seed sowing [31][32][33].…”
