Maxillofacial Gossypiboma: Case Report, Review of the Literature, and Diagnosis Algorithm

Abstract: Gossypiboma is a retained surgical sponge and represents a rare complication with an uncertain incidence probably due to medical-legal implications. It is an iatrogenic condition solely due to human factors.
