Measurement of Jet Production Cross Sections in Deep-inelastic ep Scattering at HERA

Abstract: A precision measurement of jet cross sections in neutral current deep-inelastic scattering for photon virtualities 5.5 < Q 2 < 80 GeV 2 and inelasticities 0.2 < y < 0.6 is presented, using data taken with the H1 detector at HERA, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 290 pb −1 . Double-differential inclusive jet, dijet and trijet cross sections are measured simultaneously and are presented as a function of jet transverse momentum observables and as a function of Q 2 . Jet cross sections normalised to th… Show more

“…7.3.4. We also consider a selection of differential cross-sections for single-inclusive and dijet production in DIS measured by ZEUS [110][111][112] and H1-HeraII [113,114], again only in a variant determination that will be discussed in Sect. 7.3.5.…”

“…We consider a selection of DIS single-inclusive jet (1j) and dijet production (2j) cross-sections measured by ZEUS [110][111][112] in the high-Q (HQ) region and by H1-HeraII [113,114] in the HQ and low-Q (LQ) regions. Specifically we consider cross-sections double differential in Q 2 and in the transverse momentum of the jet or of the jet pair, listed in Table 2.2.…”

“…Cross sections for jet production in ep collisions have been measured by the H1 experiment at HERA at different center-of-mass energies and for different kinematic regions. Here, jet and dijet cross sections taken during the years 1995 to 2007 [3,4,5,7,6] are considered. Consistent to all data sets, jets are defined using the k t jet-algorithm with a parameter of R = 1, and jets are required to be contained in the pseudorapidity range −1 < η jet lab < 2.5 defined in the laboratory frame.…”
