Abstract:Background: Question arises if Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou-Gehrig-Syndrom, Charcot-disease) is considered to be an autoimmune disorder that affects the nerval filaments of α-motoneurons in the central nervous system (CNS) due to oxidative stress.
