Measurement of Thermoplastics Tensile Proprieties Using Digital Image Correlation

Abstract: This paper presents measurement of tensile proprieties of thermoplastics by digital image correlation method. The objectives are to characterize based on experimental data the pre-and post-yield regime of polyvinylchloride (PVC) under uniaxial tension and to investigate the rate-dependent large deformation behaviour over crosshead speeds of 1, 5 and 25 mm/min respectively. The true strain-stress curves of PVC tested with different loading speeds are experimentally obtained and based on these a phenomenological… Show more

“…The plain Cu and Si 3 N 4 plates had the same thickness as those of the metallized substrates. To measure the strain of each sample using DIC, heat‐resistant black and white paints were sprayed onto one side of each sample to create speckles on the surface 30 . Figure 1(B,C) shows the Si 3 N 4 ‐AMB substrate before and after paint spraying.…”

“…As the CTE is typically very small, usually in the magnitude of 10 À4 -10 À6 per K, its quantication is difficult using experimental techniques. 7, 25 Therefore, we perform molecular dynamic simulation to evaluate the CTE of PVA-DEEDA-borax and PVA-borax gel. Fig.…”

“…The equipment made of plastic, used today for sports activities and recreational ones have diversified in terms of shape, quality, reliability, endurance, toughness, elasticity, etc. [1][2][3]. The sports equipment made of plastic have a major contribution when speaking about improving the motor and humanly functional potential and facilitates the ways and the opportunities of physical exercises practice in different environments, according to the type of recreational or sports activities [4,5].…”
