Measures of adult general performance tests: The Berg Balance Scale, Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), Gait Velocity, Physical Performance Test (PPT), Timed Chair Stand Test, Timed Up and Go, and Tinetti Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment (POMA)

Abstract: The functionalization of polyethylene was realized by the thermal decomposition of peroxyesters in molten polymer in the absence of any other additive. Ester and acid functions were introduced onto the polymer operating with various peroxyesters. This grafting resulted from the combination of a polymer radical, generated in the abstraction of a hydrogen from polyethylene by an alkoxy radical, with an acyloxy or carbon‐centered radical arising from the perester. A complete methodology was set up to identify and… Show more

“…The BBS score increased by 4 points, indicating a trend toward improved functional balance (Hayes & Johnson, 2003;Steffen, Hacker, & Mollinger, 2002). The BBS indicated improvement in balance activities of "turning 360 degrees" and "placing alternate foot on step or stool while standing unsupported."…”

“…GVI significantly and positively correlated with the Berg Balance Scale, which is a widely used assessment of balance performance in older adults [30]. The relationship between GVI and other clinical measures of functional mobility and balance were not statistically significant, although the strength of the correlation coefficients suggest a moderate to strong effect for some measures.…”

“…Because our results did not differ by sex, this is unlikely to have impacted our findings (25). Additionally, the instruments and cut points we selected, while validated and widely used in cancer survivor and other populations, (12, 15, 26, 31, 40) are not the only measures of physical performance available. Other self-report measures may have better concordance with the 6MW test and, or the PPT.…”

“…Participants with PPT scores ≤ 17 were classified as having a clinically identified physical performance limitation. A cut point of ≤17 corresponds to being unlikely to function in the community independently (12). The 6MW test is a general measure of physical fitness.…”
