Project management maturity influences the success of project management and project implementation. Based on project management international standards and other project management methodologies, various project management maturity models have developed. These models evaluate the level of project management maturity from many lenses; holistically, or in specific project management capabilities or specific to certain industry sectors. Projects are implemented in all human endeavors. Research and development, innovation initiatives, new ventures all harness projects as tool of change.Sustainability has three dimensions -social, economic and environmental. Project management is as much as life skill as it is a management science, relevant to business and society., It is therefore fundamental that sustainability is interwoven into project management tools, techniques and practices. Consequently, project management maturity models have to also evaluate how sustainability is included and applied in project management. The article defines a framework to assess sustainable project management in the form of the most important indicators based on the three pillars of sustainability: People, Planet and Profit. This approach could be used for evaluation of sustainability in project management generally or for the evaluation of a specific project management maturity model.

Increasing worldwide demand for products and services is applying a significant pressure on firms and supply chains operationally and financially, along with negative implications on our planet and the public. New perspectives and approaches are required to be adopted by all members of the society, including the businesses for sustainable development. However, enabling such integration from an organisational management perspective is not straightforward, due to complexities and conflicts associated with balanced integration of economic, environmental and social agendas. Aimed towards addressing this important industrial and societal research requirement, a tailored framework is presented, constructed upon the deeply rooted management principles of quality management (QM) and supply chain management (SCM) to facilitate integration of triple bottom line sustainability into business management. The framework outlines the practical steps for implementation of such an approach, including the quantitative, current state maturity assessment as one of the key application steps. This approach is taken forward to an application step, at an organisation in Cyprus, undertaken through the action research study method that enabled demonstrating both its application, and its positive effects on the sustainable development of the participating organisation. Several contributions are made, including the formulation of a practical approach to organisational integration of triple bottom line sustainability through QM and SCM. Particularly, a new management perspective was introduced with implications to many organisational managers that adopt ISO 9001 and supply chain integration principles, setting a framework for extending these principles beyond their original QM and SCM agendas towards organisational sustainable development.

Organisations should evaluate their goals in the areas of customer service provision, overall organisational strategy, finance, and human resource management. The performance of specific services provided to the client should be monitored and evaluated in greater detail. The comparison should be made between similar organisations aiming to improve services and technical efficiency. Most organisations, profit and non-profit alike, do not know how to evaluate and compare their efficiency. Retirement homes were selected for evaluation. The review focused on the technical efficiency for the years 2015-2017. To achieve the goal, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used as a specialised model tool for assessing the technical efficiency, performance or productivity of a group of homogeneous or comparable production units based on selected inputs and outputs. Due to different types of inputs and outputs, the method was selected from among multi-criteria decision-making methods. Two models, Model X and Model Y, including specific inputs and outputs, were designed to evaluate and compare the technical efficiency of selected retirement homes. According to the results, the output-oriented model (Model Y) was more effective for retirement homes compared to the input-oriented model (Model X). The value added could be seen in the model combination and comparison between different studies, which helps to understand the transferability of the results. The analysis confirmed the necessity to combine the DEA method with the quality of service assessment to be able to benchmark the real efficiency of service of a selected type of an organisation.
