“…Over the past years, several organisations and knowledge institutes, including the Harvard Business School Impact Weighted Accounting Initiative (Serafeim, 2019 [1]) and the Value Balancing Alliance, have made a strong case for monetary valuation, arguing that it is the language that business understands, that it enables comparing impacts and is highly suitable to support decision-making (HBS Impact Weighted Accounts et al, 2021 [2]).
