Measuring the Strangeness Content of the Nucleon by Observing the ϕ-Meson Mass Shift in Nuclear Matter

Abstract: The modification of the φ-meson at finite density is studied by using QCD sum rules in combination with the maximum entropy method. As a result, it is found that the mass shift of the φ-meson is strongly correlated to the strangeness content of the nucleon, N|ss|N , which governs the depletion of the strange quark condensate in nuclear matter.
