This comment on Wolfe's (2016) "Common Sense Scientology" addresses the potential controversy of publishing a paper favorable to anything related to this frequently maligned religion. It is argued from a transpersonal perspective that all religious traditions both suffer problems and offer opportunities to contribute to psychological science and practice. Consequently, psychology should neither privilege nor penalize by excluding any religious traditions from its scrutiny, including learning from and furthering what they might offer from a secular scientific vantage, regardless of their standing in public opinion. In addition, religious traditions should neither be embraced whole as psychologies per se, nor rejected whole for their alleged problems.
