Mechanical, thermal, and dielectric properties of polyvinylidene fluoride nanocomposites fabricated by introducing functional MWCNTs/barium titanate compounding dielectric nanofillers

Abstract: A facile strategy through incorporating barium titanate (BT)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) compounding dielectric nanofillers into polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) via melt-processing was proposed. Benefiting from the strong interfacial interactions between BT and MWCNTs, as well as oxygen-containing groups of BT/MWCNTs and fluorine atoms of PVDF, the sandwiched structure was constructed and thus tailoring the microstructure and enhancing the mechanical, thermal and dielectric properties of resultant nan… Show more

“…For PPy‐TiO 2 /PVDF monolayer film and PVDF/PPy‐TiO 2 /PVDF sandwich composite films, the diffraction peak of β (200) appears at 20.7° due to the presence of PPy‐TiO 2 . It will help to improve the dielectric properties and these results are consistent with the analysis of FTIR spectra described [22].…”

“…Therefore, the appropriate amount of carbon nanomaterials can enhance the mechanical properties of PHC. 42 Second, the elastic moduli and yield strengths of PHC films are reduced when excessive carbon nanomaterials are added, and the influence factors of these may be multiple. On the one hand, the crystallinity of PHC also decreases when there are too many nanomaterials.…”

“…As known to all, filling with electrically insulating fillers to matrix resin and forming cross-linked networks can increase breakdown strength. [67][68][69] In this respect, all composites' breakdown strength was analyzed and recorded in Table 4. As anticipated, the breakdown strength of P 0 -P 20 increased to 137.27 from 117.85 kV/ mm.…”
