Mechanism of Jianpi Qingchang Huashi Recipe in treating ulcerative colitis: A study based on network pharmacology and molecular docking

Abstract: BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a refractory intestinal disease with alternating onset and remission and a long disease course, which seriously affects the health and quality of life of patients. The goal of treatment is to control clinical symptoms, induce and maintain remission, promote mucosal healing, and reduce recurrence. Clinical trials have shown unsatisfactory clinical response rates. As a supplementary alternative medicine, traditional Chinese medicine has a rich history and has sh… Show more

“…Network pharmacology aims to further clarify the interactions and mechanism of a TCM and provide new strategies for drug research and development through the construction of a “drug - target - disease” network[ 15 ]. As an auxiliary screening method, molecular docking technology has been widely used to analyze the features of pharmacodynamic substances of TCM, to search for drug targets and to explore the mechanism of action of a TCM[ 16 ].…”

“…Therefore, the selection of appropriate donor feces is a key factor in the success of FMT[ 80 ]. However, few studies of FMT have considered the influence of the variation characteristics of the intestinal microbiome and metabolome of the donor on clinical efficacy[ 81 ].…”
