Mechanisms of Accelerated Oxidation of Copper in the Presence of Molten Oxides

Abstract: Accelerated oxidation of copper under the influence of a molten corrosion product is reviewed with an emphasis on the Cu-Bi 2 O 3 system. Fast and super-fast stages of the accelerated copper oxidation are considered. Mechanisms of fast and super-fast stages of the accelerated copper oxidation are suggested.
