Abstract:Multidrug resistance (MDR) in cancer and other diseases is frequently associated with transmembrane efflux proteins, one of which is P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp). Over‐expression of P‐gp in cancer cells increases the efflux of therapeutic drugs rendering them ineffective.
