Mechanized sowing of seeds of desert fodder plants

Abstract: In the paper, the authors addressed the fact that the continuous improvement of pastures by mechanized sowing and undersowing of local shrubs, sub-shrubs, and perennial grasses is one of the main conditions to maintain the fodder productivity and to combat pasture degradation. This will increase the pasture productivity up to 10 times, compared with natural fodder land. The seeders have been developed with new pick-up drums equipped with measuring grooves, which, during operation, significantly reduce the crus… Show more

“…Based on the goals and objectives of the study, as well as the analysis of studies conducted to study the shortcomings of the technical workflow of the devices mentioned above, to eliminate the existing shortcomings and solve the problem of mechanization of sowing seeds of saxaul and cherkez, which do not scatter over the entire area of the field in rows, with the release of seeds in the prescribed amount, the technology and design of the seed drill have been created, which allows sowing seeds within the regulatory interval and at a shallow depth, while not clogging seeds from inside the hopper and without negatively affecting their biological fertility. The newly proposed technology and the seeder's design and technological process are protected by a patent of the Republic of Uzbekistan [18,19,20. The novelty of the design of the seeder and the technological workflow lies in the fact that a trapezoidal hopper consisting of two parts is recommended for the row in which the seeds are sown.…”

“…Given the need to improve the condition of desert pastures and combat their degradation, it is necessary to mechanize their sowing, in particular, to develop and introduce seeders. Based on the need for mechanization of sowing seeds of desert fodder plants, we have developed seeders for sowing seeds of desert fodder plants [21,22,23]. Also, a universal sowing unit has been developed for sowing seeds of desert fodder plants (Fig.…”

“…As a result of a critical scientific analysis of the shortcomings of the devices mentioned above, a sampling drum with measuring grooves was created for the universal seeding device of an innovative seed drill, which provides ordinary row sowing of seeds of the desert forage plants, including saxaul and cherkez, while ensuring the established norms and consumption of seeds and between nests (figure 1) [13][14][15][16][17].…”
