The monograph delves into pertinent issues within Ukrainian encyclopedic practices through the lens of contemporary social communications, focusing on the relationship between encyclopedia publishers and encyclopedia readers (users), thereby influencing the shaping, preparation, and dissemination of encyclopedic knowledge within society. It provides a comprehensive exploration of Ukrainian encyclopedic discourse within the paradigm of communicative pragmatics (linguistic pragmatics) for the first time: the main functions of this discourse are widely analyzed, such as informational, which involves the exchange of scientific knowledge between people; social, which shapes our thoughts, worldview in general; a directly pragmatic function that ensures the coordination of common actions between producers of encyclopedic content and its users.
