“…The interdigital triradius bc (fused triradii b and c) and the interdigital triradius cd, in our experience, are extremely rare in the general population, since neither of them was observed in a large dermatoglyphic survey (Kasai 1951). The fusion of the palmar interdigital triradii, as observed in our patients, may indicate a tendency toward syndactyly which has not been realized embryologically, but which has affected the dermatoglyphic patterns (Schaumann & Alter 1976, Rodewald et al 1979. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that Patient 3 had the interdigital triradius bc and webbing of the third and fourth fingers.…”
