As wild Aquilaria sinensis resources are exhausted and protected, China has established a huge number of plantations of Aquilaria trees and developed artificial induction techniques. However, the current output and quality of artificial induction technology have not yet met the expected results. It has been found that high-oil-containing agarwood may contain particular fungal stains associated with agarwood production. To enhance the quality of agarwood, we recovered and characterized three highly active fungi from high-oil-containing agarwood and inoculated them onto A. sinensis trees using two traditional physical methods. The results showed that fungi extracted from high-oil-containing agarwood can effectively increase the yield and quality of agarwood. During the agarwood formation process, parenchyma cells, xylem rays, and axial parenchyma cells in the xylem gradually undergo apoptosis, thereby promoting the expansion of the color range of agarwood. Nine months after the treatment, the alcohol-soluble extract content in agarwood reached the standard specified in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (10%), and the proportions of sesquiterpenes and chromones in each treatment were 55.82%, 58.31%, 62.65%, 70.97%, and 13.71%, respectively. These results indicate that fungal induction has a positive impact on the quality of agarwood. In addition, compared to drilling and fungus combined induction, “burning holes and fungi” combined induction demonstrates better results and can further improve the yield and quality of agarwood.

ABSTRAKTanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) merupakan salah satu bentuk Primary Health Care (PHC) yang berperan kurisal selama masa pandemi COVID-19. TOGA yang banyak ditemukan di Tanjung Karang antara lain: jambu biji, sereh, kelor, dan gaharu. Pemanfaatan TOGA ini belum optimal dikarenakan penggunaannya dalam bentuk bahan mentah umumnya tidak disukai oleh anak – anak. Ibu selaku penanggung jawab utama PHC dalam keluarga perlu mengolah bahan baku TOGA menjadi produk yang diminati keluarga, salah satunya adalah teh herbal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melatih Kader TOGA Tanjung Karang mengolah daun TOGA menjadi teh herbal sebagai salah satu bentuk PHC untuk pencegahan infeksi COVID-19 di lingkungan keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dibagi menjadi dua tahap: tahap teori dan tahap praktek. Pada tahap teori participant diberikan materi terkait khasiat medis TOGA, pemeliharaan TOGA, dan pengolahan TOGA menjadi teh herbal. Pada tahap praktek, partisipan dilatih untuk mengolah daun TOGA jambu biji, sereh, kelor, dan gaharu menjadi teh herbal dengan menggunakan 5 Standard Operational Prosedur (SOP). SOP1: seleksi daun, SOP2: sterilisasi/pencucian daun, SOP 3: pengeringan/pelayuan daun, SOP4: pencacahan daun, dan SOP5: penyeduhan daun. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta pelatihan mampu mengolah daun TOGA jambu biji, sereh, kelor, dan gaharu menjadi produk teh herbal sesuai dengan SOP yang diberikan. Kata kunci: kader; teh herbal; TOGA; PHC; tanjung karang. ABSTRACTFamily Medicinal Plant (FMP) is Primary Health Care (PCO) that is potentially used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood are FMP that could be easily found in Tanjung Karang Sub-district. However, the use of these FMP in raw materials could not be well accepted by Tanjung Karang society, especially children. Thus, mothers as leaders on PCO should be processing those FMP raw materials into a product which their children could accept. One of those products is herbal tea. This community service aims to train TOGA cadre in Tanjung Karang to process FMP raw material into herbal tea products. This community service program is divided into two phases: theoretical phase and practical phase. Participants were given theory about the medical effect of FMP, FMP maintenance, and FMP processing into herbal tea products. Participants were trained to process FMP leaves from guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood into herbal tea products on the practical phase. This processing method used five steps procedures to make herbal tea products. Step1: leaves selection, step2: leaves sterilization, step3: leaves drying, step4: leaves chopping, step5: leaves brewing. It could be concluded that participants could process FMP leaves (guava, lemongrass, moringa, and agarwood) into herbal tea products with a standardization processing method. Agarwood leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis Lam.) contain chemical substances such as alkaloids, flavonoids, and triterpenoids that contribute to the healing process of burns. This study aims to evaluate the wound healing activity of spray-dried extract from agarwood leaves formulated into an ointment for second-degree burns. The method involves extracting agarwood leaves through the decoction method, followed by spray drying, and subsequent evaluation of the extract. The prepared extract was then formulated into an ointment and tested for wound healing activity on 24 white rats of the Sprague-Dawley strain, divided into four groups, each consisting of 6 rats: negative control (ointment base), positive control (Betadine®), formula 1 (agarwood leaves extract ointment with 20% extract concentration - ALO-20), and formula 2 (agarwood leaves extract ointment with 30% extract concentration - ALO-30). Second-degree burns were induced by exposing the rats' backs to ferrous metal for 3 seconds and treating them for 14 days. Observations were made by assessing changes in burn diameter and scab formation. In this study, ALO-30 demonstrated superior activity. Scab formation was faster on day 3, and the burn diameter was reduced by day 7. The results indicated that ALO-30 led to a quicker reduction in wound diameter compared to ALO-20 and the negative control. Agarwood leaves extract ointment with a concentration of 30% (ALO-30) exhibited a more effective wound healing effect than the ointment with a 20% concentration (ALO-20).
