“…In addition to the canonic typology of adolescent parricide offenders, the extant works provide trends across time, demographic characteristics of victims and offenders (Heide, 1993a;Heide & Petee, 2007a;Hillbrand et al, 1998;Shon & Targonski, 2003), the weapons used in the crime (Heide, 1993b;Heide & Petee, 2007b), and an implicit rationale of offenders' motivation (Buyuk, Kurnaz, Eke, Ankarali, & Oral, 2011;Heide, 1992;Liettu, Mikkola, Saavala, Rasanen, Joukamaa, & Hakko, 2010;Malmquist, 2010;Mones, 1991;Palermo, 2010), but also highlight three major shortcomings.
