This paper focuses on warehouse management in the construction sector in Latin America, and how it will directly influence costs and activities within the organization. In addition, there are many companies that seek to achieve perfect order in this process and one of the main tools that is implemented is the 5S methodology, since it helps to maintain order in the warehouse, facilitates the search for materials and guarantees the safety of employees.
Therefore, the objective of this research is to describe the impact on the warehouse from the 5S methodology in companies dedicated to the construction sector in Latin America, where a systematic review of the scientific literature is carried out in the period 2011-2021. The search for scientific articles was carried out in reliable databases such as: Redalyc, Google Scholar, Scielo, Dialnet, ScienceDirect, Dspace Repository, Institutional Repositories, Proquest, and Refseek. For the eligibility of the publications, research was discarded according to exclusion and inclusion criteria considering the geographical context, year of antiquity, etc. Additionally, when carrying out the discussion, a total of 40 articles scientific were considered, where the essential characteristics of various authors when implementing the 5S method are highlighted. In summary, the results show that the impact of the 5S application helps to improve the organizational culture, maintain clean and orderly spaces, reduce the times in the search for materials and improve the quality of products or services.Finally, the most relevant aspects of the 5S methodology are discussed, in increasing productivity, improving quality and an adequate working environment, managing to improve competitiveness in companies.
