“…Furthermore, through comparing and analyzing the reported oxychalcogenides, we discovered that Ba 3 M II Ge 3 O 2 S 8 (M II = Mn, Cd) demonstrated structural novelty in three distinct aspects. First, the heteroanionic [GeO x Q 4− x ] FBUs can only exist in a singular form in oxychalcogenides, 23–28 such as [GeOTe 3 ], [GeO 2 S 2 ], and [GeO 3 Se], identified in AE 3 Ge 2 O 4 Te 3 , 15,23 AEGeOS 2 , 25 and Sr 3 Ge 2 O 4 Se 3 , 27 respectively.
