Abstract:Burkholderia pseudomallei, a facultative intracellular Gram-negative bacterium casuses melioidosis, a tropical disease which is more commonly reported these days. Melioidosis can present as visceral abscess, pneumonia, localized ulcers, musculoskeletal and neurological infections, even as full blown sepsis.
