“…The present interim analysis of the study reports 24-month postoperative qualitative outcomes in terms of participants' responses to questionnaires (UFS-QOL, EQ-5D, overall treatment effect survey, and the MIQ [16][17][18][19]), re-interventions for fibroid symptoms, and pregnancy outcomes. According to the study method, the participants will be followed for a total of 5 years.…”

“…Similarly, the EuroQoL (EQ-5D) health-state survey is a validated, multi-attribute health-state classification system that indicates the burden of illness in terms of mobility, self-care, ability to complete normal activities, pain/discomfort, and anxiety or depression [18]. The menstrual impact questionnaire (MIQ) is especially useful for gauging the burden of menstrual bleeding a patient is experiencing at the time of questioning [19].…”

“…The ROC analyses provide a means to identify MBL values that balance sensitivity (i.e., true positive condition existence) and specificity (i.e., true negative condition existence) for the prediction of a patient-perceived meaningful improvement 4 . The objective measure of HMB was determined by quantifying MBL and the subjective measure of a meaningful or important response was assessed using a validated patient-reported outcome measure, the Menorrhagia Impact Questionnaire (MIQ) 5 . As the degree of MBL reduction that is considered meaningful may depend on baseline HMB severity, stratification by baseline MBL was also evaluated.…”

“…Development of patient‐reported outcome measures for HMB is an active area of interest and investigation. Although questionnaires have been developed and used, they have not been used consistently across studies or become the ‘standard’ by which menstrual bleeding‐related quality of life is measured . The theoretical model we used as the foundation for our questionnaire was based on patient input and incorporates social embarrassment, fear of social embarrassment, and behaviour changes to avoid embarrassment.…”
