Mental Health Burden and Burnout in Correctional Workers

Abstract: Working in correctional facilities is inherently stressful, and correctional workers have a high rate of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and professional burnout. Correctional workers faced an unprecedented set of challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbating an already dire situation.
