Background: Agriculture serves humanity as one of the most important professions. In Turkish agriculture, a structure in which small family businesses are more concentrated in agricultural production in rural areas is dominant. Health and safety is the most critical concern as those working in the sector often perform their activities in a dangerous, stressful and disturbing environment. All employees have the indisputable right to return to their families safely. For this employee's right, safety and health measures should be taken in the work areas. For this reason, this study it is aimed to list the factors that cause exposure to risks in the sector. Methods: Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods were used in the study. The weights of the criteria were calculated by the ANP method. The ranking of the alternatives was carried out with the PROMETHEE method. Results: Alternatives that cause exposure to risks in the agricultural sector are lack of awareness and knowledge, insufficient professional information, education/literacy level; age, gender, and child employee; inadequacy of appropriate personal protective equipment, transportation, accommodation, and working conditions. Conclusions: Occupational health and safety experts, ergonomists, doctors, engineers, manufacturers, IoT developers, and international organizations should cooperate to prevent employee health and safety risks.

In the agriculture sector, farmers do supply chain activity on their fields continuously in difficult weather conditions without using any modern technology or tools. Their work is usually manual and repetitive in nature. So, farmers suffer from musculoskeletal disorders and body pain. The use of tractors has in some way resolved the heavy manual work of farmers. However, the noise and vibration of tractors during work also have a negative impact on their bodies. The discomfort and static posture of farmers during tractor driving on rough agricultural ground led to muscle pain and stiffness. Sometimes slipped discs occur due to jerks on rough ground. So, this study is aimed at finding the risk factors that lead to work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WMSD) in tractor operators or farmers using tractors for agricultural purposes. Hence, a study is conducted on farmers driving tractors for performing agricultural operations with ergonomic tools such as rapid upper limb assessments (RULA) and quick exposure checks (QEC).
