Merkel cell polyomavirus regulates miR183 cluster and piR62011 in Merkel cell carcinoma

Abstract: Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, aggressive skin cancer, a major subset of which is caused by the clonal integration of Merkel Cell Polyomavirus (MCV). Recent studies by Cheng et al. (2017) reported that virus-derived small T antigen protein-bound EP400 complex drives expression of genes essential for cellular transformation.
