“…The assigned α-orientation of HO-4″ was determined by the pyridine-induced solvent shifts of H-6″ (Table , Δδ = δ CDCl 3 – δ C 5 D 5 N = −0.53 ppm). Therefore, the relative configuration of compound 4 was identified as shown, which was a C-4″ epimer of previously reported gabralide E . However, the 1 H and 13 C chemical shifts of compound 4 were exactly identical with those of gabralide E. Therefore, GIAO NMR calculations of compound 4 and gabralide E at the PCM/mPW1PW91/6-31+G** level were carried out.…”

“…The genus Chloranthus (Chloranthaceae) is distributed mainly in temperate and tropical Asia and comprises over 13 species . Sesquiterpenoid dimers and oligomers, especially the dimeric lindenane sesquiterpenoids (DLS), are the characteristic metabolites. , DLS exhibit a wide range of bioactivities, including antifungal, antitumor, and antimalarial activities. , Recently, several structurally interesting meroterpenoids were identified from its closely related genus Sarcandra . In our continuing pursuit of novel bioactive metabolites from the genus Chloranthus , Chloranthus spicatus collected from Hainan Province of China was chemically investigated. Spicatulides A–G ( 1 – 7 ), seven new phenolic–monoterpenoid hybrid molecules featuring homogentisate conjugated with a geranyl and/or menthene derivative, and two known related compounds, 8 and 9 , were isolated and identified by diverse methods.…”

“…After geometry optimization by DFT calculations, the conformers were selected in an energy window of 10 kcal/mol for further ECD calculation by Gaussian 09 . The ECD curves were simulated using SpecDis 1.51 software. , The molecular orbital analysis of 1 was performed by Multiwfn 3.8 and further evaluated with VMD 1.9.3 software. …”

“…S. glabra is commonly called 'Caoshanhu' in Chinese, owing to its ripe fruits bearing a resemblance to shiny red coral beads. [2,3] Many gardeners process S. glabra into the potted landscape for its gorgeous color and beautiful appearance. As a traditional Chinese medicinal material, the xylem of S. glabra can clear away heat and detoxification, dispel wind and activate blood circulation, reduce swelling and pain, and resist bacteria and inflammation.…”

“…It is a perennial evergreen semi‐shrub with a height of approximately 50∼120 cm and both stems and branches have swollen nodes. S. glabra is commonly called ‘Caoshanhu’ in Chinese, owing to its ripe fruits bearing a resemblance to shiny red coral beads [2,3] . Many gardeners process S. glabra into the potted landscape for its gorgeous color and beautiful appearance.…”
