MESSENGER Observations of Multiple Magnetic Energy Releases during Mercury’s Substorm

Abstract: Substorms are energy storage and dissipation processes that occur in planetary magnetospheres accompanied by numerous phenomena, such as magnetic dipolarizations, plasma sheet thinning and thickening, magnetic flux ropes, and plasmoid ejections.
