Abstract:BACKGROUND
Potential long-term effects of treatment for childhood cancer include adiposity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and hypertension. These risk factors cluster together as metabolic syndrome (MetS) and increase the risk for development of diabetes mellitus and cardio- and cerebrovascular disease.
