“…Methylclostebol is a substance structurally related to clostebol (4-chlorotestosterone) and numerous results about the metabolism of clostebol in human [13,17,18] and cattle [19,20] have been published. But there is only limited data available concerning the metabolism of methylclostebol itself.…”

“…The standard used was β-methenolone (17β-hydroxy-1-methyl-5α-androst-1-ene-3-one), since no standard of α-methenolone (17α-hydroxy-1-methyl-5α-androst-1-ene-3-one) was available. In urine samples the α-form can be expected (Leyssens et al, 1994). Under the applied chromatographic conditions, α-forms will elute before their β-forms, which implies that M1 most probably is α-methenolone.…”

“…After evaporation of the steroid fraction, containing 17β-Bold, 17α-Bold, T and ADD, and before solid-phase extractions, the residue was dissolved in a mixture of 500 μL of trichloromethane and 5 mL of hexane. Two solid-phase extractions were performed using silica and amino cartridges successively (Leyssens et al, 1994). Each cartridge was conditioned using 5 mL of hexane.…”
