Metabolomics and Dereplication Study of the Endophytic Fungus Aspergillus chevelieri in Search of Bioactive Natural Compounds

Abstract: Objectives: This study aimed to point the significant rule of metabolomics tools to assess the chemistry of the bioactive metabolites produced by endophytic fungus Aspergillus chevalieri isolated from Lagerostromia tomentosa C. presl. The anticancer of crude extracts, fractions and pure compounds and antimicrobial of pure compounds were investigated as part of this study. Methods: An endophytic fungus (Aspergillus chevalieri) was isolated from the tissues of the stem of Lagerostromia tomentosa C. Presl and ide… Show more

“…Metabolomic profiling of P. crispum, S. maydis and a combination of the three crude extracts Metabolomic profiling was performed on the crude extracts of P. crispum, S. maydis and a combination of the three crude extracts to deliver general qualitative and quantitative profiles of metabolites that may be involved in the activity of the extracts [38]. Dereplication refers to the rapid identification of the known secondary metabolites and their quantification in crude unfractionated extracts [39,40]. Identification of metabolome was done on an Acquity Liquid Chromatography (LC) system coupled to a Synapt G2 HDMS quadrupole time-offlight hybrid mass spectrometer (Waters, Milford, USA).…”

“…Additionally, researchers believed that A. chevalieri had a positive effect on the quality of dark tea (Chen, Hubka, et al., 2017; Huang et al., 2017). A. chevalieri metabolites have a variety of activities, such as the inhibition of bacteria and plant pathogens’ growth (Bovio et al., 2019; Zin et al., 2017), protection of human fibroblasts under oxidative stress (Letsiou et al., 2020), inhibition of hepatitis C virus (Hawas et al., 2015), anti‐tumor effect (Tawfik et al., 2017), and fermentation of mycophenolic acid (Mouhamadou et al., 2017). It is a resource strain that could use more food technology (Liu, Zhou, Wang, Tan, et al., 2021; Liu, Zhou, Wang, Ye, et al., 2021) to develop active ingredients.…”
