“… 20 As lipidomics enables the comprehensive, large-scale analysis of lipids in biological systems, it has been increasingly applied in recent years to discover and identify disease biomarkers and to elucidate disease development mechanisms. 21 Mass spectrometry (MS) constitutes a common analysis platform for lipidomics. Using its positive and negative mode ionization methods and versatile mass analyzers, intact molecular ions of metabolites can be produced, and highly resolved MS/MS spectra can be acquired.…”

“…Maulidiani et al found that obese mice had reduced levels of fumarate in urine, which may be associated with mitochondrial dysfunction [ 43 ]. Moreover, significantly downregulated fumarate levels were found in the serum of obese mice, and its concentration could be upregulated when obese mice were supplemented with Corydalis bungeana extracts, with anti-obesity effects [ 44 ]. Combined with our result, we can infer that fibers may have a positive effect on the regulation of mitochondrial functions, thus regularizing energy metabolism in obese mice.…”

“…Since trans-TSG and cis-TSG are easily transformed under sunlight and their significant difference in bioactivities, it is necessary to rapidly and deeply investigate their metabolic differences. Metabolomics can investigate overall metabolic information and explore complex metabolic pathways to elucidate the physiological or pathological activities of drugs [7,8]. As we all know, commonly used metabolomics techniques mainly include nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and liquid chromatography-MS (LC-MS) [9][10][11][12], NMR has the advantages of high reproducibility, high throughput, non-destructiveness, and absolutely quantification of all metabolites with only one reference standard or even no reference compound.…”
