Polymerization reactions of 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTS) were carried out by different catalysts, potassium hydroxide, potassium tertbutoxide, and tetraphenylporphyrin aluminum chloride (TPP-AlCl), and tetrafluorophthalate zironium isopropoxide complex. Polymer samples obtained from the ringopening polymerization of GPTS were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy, and gel permeation chromatography.
