Metal–organic frameworks‐derived TiO2 for photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride

Abstract: This work will change the common understanding that C doping of MIL‐125(Ti)‐derived TiO2 is a key factor in improving its photocatalytic performance, and it can also help to understand the internal relationship between the structure and performance of photocatalytic materials deeply. It provides a simple synthesis method for the wider application of TiO2 in the field of photocatalysis. Compared with previous studies, this article uses the titanium‐based metal‐organic framework MIL‐125(Ti) to prepare the semico… Show more

“…Hydrogels are formed by chemical bonds, hydrogen bonds, van der Waals forces or physical tangles with a three-dimensional cross-networking structure [5][6][7], and contain hydrophilic groups such as hydroxyl, amide, sulfonic acid and carboxyl groups [8]. Compared with traditional adsorption materials, hydrogels have higher removal rate of antibiotic residues, convenient preparation, environmentally friendly, and excellent performance [9].…”

“…6 shows the fitting diagram of hydrogel adsorption isotherm and adsorption thermodynamics. Langmuir (7)(8) and Freundlich (9) were fitted respectively for the isothermal adsorption in Figure 6. The adsorption isothermal parameters were obtained by combining theoretical calculation, as shown in Table 3, where Langmuir's correlation coefficient (R 2 ) was greater than Freundlich's.…”

“…Among them, titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), which is a semiconductor photocatalyst, has a prominent place in photocatalysis [17], since it can decompose toxic organic pollutants in water by generating active species (•OH) with high oxidation potential. Even though TiO 2 possesses chemical stability [18], non-toxicity [19], and low cost [20], its application remains limited. The fabrication of photocatalyst (TiO 2 ) alongside a material (support) that efficiently adsorbs organic pollutants could be beneficial compared to their separate use because of the reversible transfer of intermediates [21] and reactive radicals between the photocatalyst and the support surface [22].…”
