“…Today, one of the most common used material for interconnects in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) is chromite ferrite steels of the Crofer type containing 0.03% C, 20-24% Cr, 0.3-0.8% Mn, 0.1-0.6% Si, up to 0.2% Ti, up to 0.2% La, up to 0.1% Al. These materials have high electrical and thermal conductivity, a satisfactory heat resistance and a coefficient of thermal expansion close to the electrolyte [23]. Their main disadvantage is the tendency to form volatile compounds CrO 3 and CrO 2 (OH) 2 , which predetermine "cathode pollution", and therefore, reduce the productivity of the SOFC.…”
