Metaphor as Sea Creature Naming Strategy in Akan

Abstract: The paper discusses the role of metaphor in the name construction of sea creatures among Akan (Mfantse) people within the purview of onomasiology. The role of metaphor in the naming of sea creatures has been understudied.
