Metformin increases the expression of proinflammatory cytokines and inhibits supraspinatus fatty infiltration

Abstract: Background After a rotator cuff (RC) tendon tear, the supraspinatus (SS) inflammatory response induces fatty infiltration (FI). Metformin has the effect of regulating the initial inflammatory response of atrophic muscles.
