Metformin Protects Against Sunitinib-induced Cardiotoxicity: Investigating the Role of AMPK

Abstract: Sunitinib is associated with cardiotoxicity through inhibition of AMP-protein kinase (AMPK) signaling. By contrast, the common antidiabetic agent metformin has demonstrated cardioprotection through indirect AMPK activation.
