For the thorough research on coal metamorphism impact on gas adsorption capacity, this paper collected and summarized parameters of experimental adsorption isotherms, coal maceral, proximate analysis and ultimate analysis obtained from National Engineering Research Center of Coal Gas Control and related literatures at home and abroad, systematically discussed the coal rank effect on its physicochemical properties and methane adsorption capacity, in which the coal rank was shown in Vitrinite reflectance, furthermore, obtained the Semi-quantitative relationship between physicochemical properties of coal and methane adsorption capacity.

ABSTRAeTIn this study, a new approach is proposed and developed for evaluating the comprehensive outburst index (range between Oand 100), which is a quantitative assessment approach and will enable us to better understand the risk degree of coal and gas outburst in coal mines. By selecting some typical risk-free and high-risk outburst mines from China as the evaluation targets, we assessed their comprehensive outburst indexes with the developed approach. The assessment results are fully consistent with the actual situations, which indicates that our new developed approach is reliable and can be recommended for applying in more coal mines.

ÖzetArtan üretim miktarları ile üretim panolarının daha derinlere ulaĢması, çalıĢılan ayağın önündeki kömür damarlarının gaz içeriğinin belirlenmesine yönelik talebi de beraberinde getirmiĢtir. Aynı zamanda kömür damarlarının gaz içeriğini etkileyen parametrelerin birbirleriyle olan iliĢkilerinin biliniyor olması, doğru bir tahmin için son derece önemlidir. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesi, özellikle iĢçi sağlığı ve iĢ güvenliği açısından ve verimli bir iĢyeri planı ortaya koyulması yönünden ayrı bir hassasiyete sahiptir. Bu çalıĢmada, kömürlerin gaz içeriğinin tespitine yönelik yapılan çalıĢmalar ile birlikte, Gediz'de (Kütahya) bir kömür ocağından elde edilen numunelerin gaz potansiyeli araĢtırılmıĢ yapılan deneysel çalıĢmalar detayları ile birlikte verilmiĢtir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Kömür, Gaz içeriği, Yeraltı kömür madenciliği, Ani püskürme The Determination of Gas Content of Coal; A Case Study AbstractIncreased production rates and deeper panel locations have brought about the demand for the determination of the gas content of coal beds ahead of the working face. It is also important to know the association of the parameters with each other for an accurate estimation of gas content of the coal seams. Evaluation of the data obtained has a distinct precision specifically for the occupational health and safety as well as realizing an efficient workplace. In the present work, the practices towards the determination of gas content of the coal are outlined together with the explanation of an experimental work carried out on the coal samples taken from a colliery in the province of Gediz (Kütahya).
