Methodische Untersuchungen zur Bestimmung der Verdaulichkeit des Rohproteins beim Hühnergeflügel

Abstract: A comparison of various methods for the determination of the digestibility of crude protein in chickens was made. The chemical methods of dividing faeces and urine according to HARTFIEL and EKMAN were tried out, and a new method based on the determination of alpha-NH2-N was developed and tested. Colostomy of hens served as the basis of the comparison for the correctness of the chemical methods. The best approximation to the digestibility quotient of the crude protein according to colostomy was achieved with th… Show more

“…The chemical composition of maize grain and excreta was determined according to AOAC (2005), while α-amino nitrogen in feed and excreta was determined according to method of Pahle et al (1983) modified by Barteczko et al (1993). The method is based on the hydrolysis of protein in feed and faeces in hydrochloric acid.…”

“…The ATTD of protein was calculated according to Pahle et al (1983) with the use of α-amino nitrogen determined in feed and excreta. Apparent metabolizable energy corrected to zero nitrogen balance (AME N ) was calculated according to the formula of Hill and Anderson (1958): AME N = AME -(BN g x 0.0365) where: BN (N retained), g = N intake, g -N excreta, g Means were compared for main effects using one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's test.…”

“…Gross energy was determined using an adiabatic bomb calorimeter (Model C 4000 A, IKA-Analysentechnik, Heitersheim, Germany). Apparent TREATMENTS OF RAPESEED FOR BROILERS 57 crude protein digestibility was calculated from total a-amino-N being present in feed and excreta employing the ninhydrin reaction (Pahle et al, 1983). The glucosinolates of the rape products were analyzed by HPLC (LiChroGraph, Merck/Hitachi) according to the E.U.…”

“…Whereas the nitrogen analysis (semimicro Kjeldahl method) and chemical separation of nitrogen in faeces and urine (a-NH 2 -N method of Pahle et al, 1983, modified by Priebs et al, 1987 was performed in the fresh excrements, for the other analyses the freeze dried excrements were used. The energy content of feed and excrements was determined with an adiabatic bomb calorimeter (C400, Janke and Kunkel GmbH, Staufen, Germany) followed by gravimetric determination of the carbon dioxide to calculate the carbon content.…”
