The article serves as a problem statement and presents the author’s perspective on interdisciplinary research directions towards establishing a system for managing the multifaceted risks associated with the socio-economic development of territories. It delves into the challenge of systematically studying the interrelatedness of economic, social, environmental, information, technological, and other risks, their assessment, forecasting, and analysis of their impact on the sustainable development of territories. A literature review provides an analysis of the current state of research on this issue, and the article formulates tasks, directions, and expected outcomes for further research on the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the complex risks of sustainable development of territories.
