Methods and Diagnostic Techniques Used to Analyse the Technical State of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Abstract: The paper presents the problems concerning the principles of developing expertise and performing tests on reinforced concrete structures. The situations that justify the need to provide expertise, the subject of which are constructions made of reinforced concrete, are described. A layout of the content of expertise that is usually adopted in practice has been included and commented on. The basic principles that should be followed when diagnosing the structures in question are provided. The available diagnostic… Show more

“…Diagnostic tests allow evaluation of the condition of reinforced concrete prestressed girder structures, and the degree of deterioration of individual elements, and determination of the characteristics of concrete and reinforcement, and the causes of damage, and prediction of the durability of the structure [ 46 ]. In the diagnostic testing of building structures or their elements, the actual condition and the actual conditions of their operation should be taken into account, and current standards should be used in the assessment.…”

“…In the opposite situation, when the structure of the element changes favorably into the interior, the potential inherent in the element may not be exploited [15]. Therefore, in order [10], [17]. Ultrasonic testing of strength parameters is possible for steel and concrete [8], [18], [19] while for timber they are limited to the modulus of elasticity test [20].…”
