A state‐of‐the‐art overview of the intercultural communication field in Russia follows, including the degrees conferred, academic professional organizations and groups, conferences, and journals. Next, major theoretical and methodological approaches are discussed, with a special note on the relationship between theory and method. A separate section is dedicated to key themes and topics, including emerging trends in intercultural communication research and education. The entry concludes by noting that, while intercultural communication research and education in Russia are vibrant and diverse, they still face methodological and theoretical challenges, with the pressing task of bringing conceptual coherence to the field.
