In this study, Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technology was used to diagnose osteoporosis through nail analysis. The study focused on measuring calcium concentration in nails as an indicator of bone density and osteoporosis diagnosis. Samples were collected from a healthy individual and a person with osteoporosis from Al-Hillah Teaching Hospital. The results showed that healthy nails have higher calcium concentrations compared to nails affected by osteoporosis. LIBS technology is a powerful and accurate tool for analyzing the elemental composition of nails and identifying disease-related changes. Physicians can utilize this technique to improve their ability to diagnose and monitor osteoporosis and guide appropriate treatment.
