Abstract:Background: Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) increases morbidity and mortality after cardiac surgery. Landiolol, a selective ultra-short-acting betablocker has been recently suggested to prevent POAF in the cardiac surgical setting with a good safety profile.
