Microbial Growth Rate and Distribution of Doubling Time at Different Concentration of Oil Sludge Medium

Abstract: Microorganisms play a critical part in the development of a sustainable ecosystem and biosphere. The generation time, which differs among bacteria is influenced by many environmental factors as well as the nature of the bacteria species. In this present work, the growth curves of five consortia locally isolated beneficial microorganisms (LIBeM) in mixtures of (LIBeM) Candida tropicalis-RETL-Cr1, Chromobacterium violaceum-MAB-Cr1, Pseudomonas aeruginosa-BAS-Cr1, Sphingomonas paucimobilis-RETOS-Cr1, and Stenotro… Show more

“…According to Antunes et al [20], C. violaceum also a potential biosurfactantproducing bacteria. These biosurfactants was all proven to emulsify oil and reduce surface tension in low concentration [11]. There are several possible mechanisms by which biosurfactants assisted the hydrocarbon degrading consortia in present study.…”

“…However, this extent is limited by environmental factors such as nutrients, pH, dissolved oxygen and temperature [8]. The process also depends on chemical nature of hydrocarbon 1267 (2023) 012038 IOP Publishing doi:10.1088/1755-1315/1267/1/012038 2 compounds, where, more complex structures are more resistance to biodegradation and readily degradable by fewer microorganisms [11]. In nature, crude oil biodegradation involves a succession species of microbes.…”
