During the pandemic and the ongoing war with russia, special attention is paid to the quality of training of healthcare professionals, which affects the quality of medical care provided to the population.This study aimed to analyse the methodological and organisational principles of the student scientific club of the Department of Paediatrics №2 of the Bogomolets National Medical University in obtaining special and general competences by applicants for higher education in Paediatrics, speciality 222 "Medicine".At the Bogomolets National Medical University, the student scientific movement is traditionally united into student scientific clubs and the O.A. Kisel Student Scientific Society, which have become an integral part of the educational process at the NMU and the formation of the personality of the future doctor and scientist.The activities of the Student Scientific Society of the Department of Paediatrics No. 2 are primarily aimed at developing the skills of scientific research, public presentations and scientific discussion among the club's students. An essential part of the work of the student scientific club is also the deepening and improvement of knowledge in Paediatrics as a necessary component of the formation of the principles of continuous professional development for future doctors. Therefore, the research work of students in the field of Paediatrics at NMU actively stimulates their personal and intellectual growth and allows them to deepen their knowledge and special and professional competencies, practical skills, level of preparation for OSCE-2 exams and encourages applicants for higher medical education to continuous self-improvement.
